The Metabolic Reset with Stephen Thomas BSc (Hons). Lower insulin, burn fat, and feel like yourself again.
Why this exists

The problem was never you. It was the noise.

There's a huge amount of confusion in nutrition. People are constantly told what's healthy, what they should eat, what they should avoid, and how they should live. One minute something is essential. The next minute it's dangerous. Then five years later it's apparently essential again, but only if it's organic, or hand-reared, or approved by someone in a white coat.

It's no wonder people are confused. And when you've been given fifty conflicting rules and none of them worked, it's very easy to decide the problem is your willpower. I've been coaching this for sixteen years, and I can tell you it usually isn't. It's that nobody ever walked you through it properly, in order, while you were doing it.

That's the whole reason this program exists. Not another wall of information. Thirty days of someone being there while you make the changes.

Who's running it

I'm 62, and I test everything on myself first.

I'm Stephen Thomas. I've spent sixteen years coaching people on low carb and carnivore, and I've worked with over a thousand of them. I'm not interested in arguing on the internet about what should work. I'd rather measure what does.

A few weeks ago I ran a five-day fasting challenge with a small group. I deliberately gained weight beforehand, the heaviest I'd been in years, on purpose, because I wanted to test how quickly a 62-year-old body could get back on track. I fasted alongside the group, live on camera, and I finished at 73 hours, down 7.9 pounds. That Friday night I played football.

One member went 88 hours, the deepest ketosis of her life. Another weighed on a body-composition scale at the end of the week and had lost 3.3 pounds of fat while gaining 1.5 pounds of muscle. One lady had never fasted a day in her life and was frightened of it. She did 37 hours, dry, and told the group her fear was gone.

"I think that's the power of community and doing it together."
Stephen, final day of the July group

Five days did that. The Metabolic Reset is what happens when you get thirty.

How the thirty days work

One change at a time. That's the whole method.

If you change everything overnight it feels overwhelming, and when something feels overwhelming, that's usually when people quit. So we don't do that.

01

The practical changes first

Each week introduces one main change to your food and your routine. Week one has a single job: cut out grains. Not because I want to hand you a rule, but because once you understand why, the what becomes much easier to stick to. We build from there, one step at a time, and you'll feel the difference before you finish understanding all the science.

02

Then the fine-tuning

What to do when you run into short-term problems. How to adjust when something isn't working for you specifically. How to make this fit around a real life with a job, a family, and people who think you've lost your mind. This is the part you can't get from a book, because it depends entirely on what's happening to you that week.

03

Then making it permanent

This isn't meant to be a short-term fix. The goal is to reach the point where this is simply normal and you're no longer thinking about it every five minutes. You're just living it. You finish the thirty days with a written 90-day plan so you know exactly what you're doing next, rather than drifting back.

What you get

Thirty days. Everything included.

My coaching session with Stephen was a blessing. Beginning week 4 of carnivore, I was feeling very uncertain about this path since I was not seeing the results that I was looking for. I was having high blood sugars in spite of adhering to strict carnivore. He explained why this is likely happening. His explanation was clear and concise and easy to understand. I felt so much better after talking to him and I am more committed than ever to healing my type 2 diabetes with a carnivore lifestyle.

Stephen was a pleasure to have a session with. I felt like I was treated as an individual person. We reviewed my blood work, exercise routine, and goals. The advise was useful. I didn't feel like he tried to push anything on me. The cost felt like money well spent. I would recommend him as a coach.

This was my first time chatting with a coach and Stephen far exceeded my expectations. I chose him specifically because he was similar in age to me and has extensive knowledge of diabetes, which I have eliminated through Keto/Carnivore. Stephen had many great observations and suggestions, which I will be putting into practice.

He is also a great coach with just the right amount of compassion balanced with the truth of tough love. Stephen is very professional while still being completely down-to-earth. His extensive experience with converting from a more plant-based diet to Carnivore, and his scientific approach to solving problems makes him the perfect coach for me.

I have been Keto for over a year and always felt as if something was missing. After just a half hour with him over Zoom he gave me more confidence that I can do this. I am grateful that he utilizes his real experience and knowledge to best help his clients and that he is a straight shooter.

He explained why I was suffering, why it hasn't healed, and made suggestions of specific exercises, stretches, and other activities. I took his advice and within two months I have experienced such healing it is almost unbelievable. I owe a debt of gratitude to Stephen for helping me to be pain free.

He answered all my questions about my concerns of having had gastric bypass surgery. He was very easy to talk with, felt like old chums at the end. He had a lot of good suggestions about my eating plan and I have implemented them without problem. Being an RN, I was glad to hear that he was medically inclined.

I was needing a confidence builder and that's what I got. I have a High Coronary Artery Calcium Score just like Stephen and with all the contradictory information out there I just needed to hear Steve's success story on the carnivore diet one more time. Now I feel like I have renewed confidence to carry on.

Stephen is really good at listening to the problems and addressing them. He brought up an insight that I should have been aware of, but wasn't, and that led me to an improved approach that is helping so far. He considers all aspects of the person. I couldn't have asked for anyone better.

Honestly

Who this is for, and who it isn't.

This is for you if

  • You're thinking about moving towards low carb, keto or carnivore and you don't know what to actually do first
  • You've already started but you're winging it, and you'd like to know whether you're doing it right
  • You've tried things before, they didn't stick, and you've quietly started blaming yourself
  • You want somebody to ask when something feels off, rather than searching the internet at 11pm
  • You've done a fast or a challenge and you want to turn that into how you live

This isn't for you if

  • You want a plan handed to you that you never have to think about. This asks something of you
  • You want dramatic results in a week. The whole point is that it lasts
  • You're looking for the most extreme version of anything. There's no medal for suffering
  • You're not able to make any changes to your food at the moment. Come back when you can

And if you're on medication, particularly for blood pressure or diabetes, talk to your doctor before you change how you eat or start fasting. I'll say that more than once. It matters.

Questions

The things people ask me

What if I can't make the live sessions?

Every session is recorded and sits in your account, so you can catch up whenever suits you. Plenty of people watch back in the evening. You'll get more out of it if you come live and ask your own questions, but nobody is penalised for having a job.

I've already been doing carnivore for a while. Is this too basic for me?

The early part will be revision for you, and I'd encourage you to treat it that way. Going back over the basics isn't a waste of time, it reminds you why you do what you do, and the basics are usually where the biggest wins are hiding. After that we're into fine-tuning and troubleshooting, which is where experienced people tend to get the most.

Do I have to fast?

No. Fasting is part of what we cover because it's a useful tool and a lot of people are frightened of it for no good reason, but this is a metabolic reset, not a fasting contest. You go at the pace that's right for you, and I'd rather you did something sustainable than something impressive.

Will I lose muscle?

If you've got body fat on you, stored fuel that's there for exactly this purpose, why would your body decide to burn the hard-earned muscle it uses to move your skeleton around instead? It makes no sense. I've had too many people do DEXA scans over the years to say anything different. In the July group, one member's scale showed fat down 3.3 pounds and muscle up 1.5 pounds in a week.

I'm on medication. Can I still do this?

Talk to your doctor first, especially if you're on anything for blood pressure or diabetes, because when your eating changes your medication needs can change too, and that needs supervising by whoever prescribes it. Bring that conversation to your one-to-one and we'll work out how to approach the thirty days sensibly around it. This is education, not medical advice, and I won't pretend otherwise.

What happens when the thirty days are over?

You keep the recordings, and you leave with a written 90-day plan built around where you actually got to, not where a template assumed you'd be. The goal of the month is that this becomes normal, so that carrying on doesn't take any willpower.

Why is it £997?

Because you're getting a month of my actual time, not a course I recorded once and walked away from. I'm live with you every weekday, I sit down with you one to one, and I write your plan for the ninety days after. If you added up what people pay me for that individually it comes to more than this. And I'd rather charge properly and keep the group small than fill a room with people I can't get to.
